The Leader Of Bridgend Council

In June 2001, Hinrich Behrends, son of SS-Gruppenführer und Generalleutnant der Polizei Hermann Behrends came to Island Farm to see where his father, 54 years ago, had been held prior to his extradition from Island Farm to Yugoslavia.

Hinrich was only a young child during WWII so now barely remembers his father. Hinrich considered his visit to Island Farm "a son's attempt to understand more about my father's life, personality and motivation."

Hinrich Behrends is the ONLY relative of a former POW who has ever visited Hut 9 as a consequence of this web site. Yet Jeff Jones attacked this website saying that it attracted "cranks and Nazi sympathisers !" and that the website had now made Hut 9 "a shrine to Nazism" !!!

Below is the South Wales Echo, 31st January 2003 and details what Jeff Jones was quoted as saying about Hinrich Behrends and his father!
